Phase 1 almost is complete

As you can see in the Architectural rendering above and the construction photos below, our goal of building a new home is well on its way. Phase 1 is almost complete and although we have had some unforeseen delays the foundation should be completed in a couple of weeks. The building and Finance committees have been busy working to secure our construction loan so that Phase 2 can be started. Phase 2 is to have the exterior walls completed.

Over the past several weeks, the building committee has been working hard to make the building design as “Green” as possible.

What is “Green” you may ask?

Green building is a design and construction practice that promotes the economic health and well-being of your family, community, and the environment. A smart step toward economic rewards, Green Building also has positive social and environmental ramifications that assert your commitment to the future and the way we live for years to come.

Some examples of how we are making the build “Green” are:

1. Geothermal heating / cooling system. Eliminates the use of fossil fuels.

2. Harding plank siding.

3. Lots of energy efficient windows.

For more information do a Google search on “Green building material”.

The building committee needs your help!

There is a lot of work to be done, if you or someone you know can volunteer some time (No experience required), please contact Amy in the office. One of the many projects is defining the interior design.

Also please make every effort to support this project financially by making a pledge.

Snow is not going to stop us!

Well it may slow us down a bit but as you can see in the pictures below, A. J. & Sons has been busy with the site preparation. Hopefully the foundation footings will be poured next week followed by the foundation the week after. We are in the process of getting quotes to put in a geothermal heat pump for heating / cooling the building. With the price of oil and propane skyrocketing this should be a big cost saving for us in the coming years.

Please make every effort to attend the upcoming:

Campaign Cabinet Meeting

Without your support we can not reach our goal.

Construction update

As of last week the lot has been cleared of all trees (see photos below). Weather permitting we expect to have most of the site prep complete and foundation formers poured by the end of February.

In parallel we are continuing to work on fund raising and securing a construction loan.

We would like to thank everyone that provided inputs to the interior design. These inputs are being compiled and will be submitted to the architect to produce renderings. The renderings will be posted as soon as they are available.

Stay tune as more details will be posted shortly.

The Building Committee needs your HELP!

We are happy to announce that on Nov. 7th 13 Boutwell was demolished in preparation for construction. We are in the process of filing the remaining paperwork and an $85,000 permit fee to the Town. We expect to receive the building permit within a couple of weeks.

Now we need your help with the interior design. This is your opportunity to help make our new home both appealing and functional.

In the Sanctuary you will find poster boards for you to write down your inputs on the design of each room.

NOTE: There is no wrong answer and all suggestions will be considered.

Don’t miss this opportunity to help design our new home that will be enjoyed by all and future generation.

Stay tuned...

We will now be posting updates on the progress of our new building here.
